CPAC wraps up with Trump making an appearance
The Conservative Political Action Conference, commonly known CPAC, wraps up Saturday in Maryland with more Republican leaders and other high-profile conservatives set to make appearances. President Donald Trump, who returned to the U.S. after his summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un abruptly ending without a deal and his ex-lawyer Michael Cohen’s searing public testimony, will try to regain his footing in front of a friendly crowd, Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz, who brought negative attention on himself this week after it was announced that the Florida bar will investigate a tweet he posted that was viewed as a threat to Cohen, will also speak during the afternoon session.
Winter storm brings snow, freezing temperatures
Winter is back for more this weekend as millions endure coast-to-coast snow and freezing temperatures. Snow that started in California, will move into the central Plains and Midwest on Saturday, the Weather Channel said. By Sunday, the system will strengthen and spread snow from Missouri to New York State. Also this weekend, a ferocious, “punishing” blast of record cold air will first invade the central U.S. Saturday into Sunday, then attack the eastern and southern U.S. early next week, the National Weather Service said. Time to bundle up!
Shocking Michael Jackson documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ airs
“Leaving Neverland,” a four-hour documentary that revives allegations that superstar Michael Jackson was a pedophile, will air in two installments on HBO, starting Sunday. The film alleges that Jackson groomed and sexually molested young boys at his Santa Barbara County ranch-turned-amusement park. Two of his alleged victims, Wade Robson, 36, and James Safechuck, 40, say the pop star preyed upon young victims from unstable families who thought he was “God”. The Michael Jackson estate and many of Jackson’s family members have fought against the documentary, with the estate filing a $100 million lawsuit against HBO.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Saturday is Read Across America Day
March 2 is National Read Across America Day — also known as Dr. Seuss’s birthday. While many schools and libraries celebrated during the week, some stores, like Target are holding free story time events to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s 115th birthday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2. There will be readings of “What Pet Should I Get” at the top of every half hour, Dr. Seuss giveaways and activities.
NFL draft combine: All eyes on future stars
Hundreds of pro prospects will show off their skills at the 2019 NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis through the weekend. Quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends are working out Saturday and defensive players doing so on Sunday and Monday. Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray, who recently committed to playing in the NFL after being drafted high in the 2018 MLB Draft, could end up going No. 1 overall, multiple talent evaluators told USA TODAY Sports. Ohio State star Dwayne Hoskins also appears to be a first-round lock and Missouri’s Drew Lock and Duke’s Daniel Jones also may garner similar investments.

Major League Soccer kicks off its 2019 season this weekend with 10 games on Saturday and two on Sunday. FC Cincinnati, MLS’ 24th and newest team, will play its inaugural game Saturday in against the Seattle Sounders, while defending MLS Cup champion Atlanta United begins its season at D.C.
