Facebook platform users hit Twitter with #facebookdown Wednesday, after losing access to Facebook, Instagram and Messenger across the world.

The common theme to social media outages is to jump on another network to vent.
As with nearly every Facebook outage, users headed to Twitter on Wednesday with the hashtag #FacebookDown quickly becoming the top trending topic in the United States.
Facebook started having problems at around noon EDT, with issues popping up across Facebook proper, Facebook Messenger and Instagram around the world.
#InstagramDown also was trending Wednesday.
Some users of Facebook-owned WhatsApp reported having issues sending photos on the popular messaging app. There were fewer tweets Wednesday for #WhatsAppDown.
And some tweets used all of three of the hashtags.
One Twitter user, @InstaDown, who’s name is listed as “Is Instagram Still Down?” tweeted more than 10 times Wednesday.

“Hello everyone tonight we conducted a social experiment where we were able to reach millions of people with a few short tweets in the space of 3 hours. Tomorrow we will share everything with you. #instagramdown #facebookdown #whatsappdown #moresociallessmedia,” @InstaDown tweeted.
The real Instagram account didn’t make an announcement until 6:18 p.m. and tweeted: “We’re aware of an issue impacting people’s access to Instagram right now. We know this is frustrating, and our team is hard at work to resolve this ASAP.”
Twitter user @eyempuneet tweeted “feels like life is incomplete without Instagram.”
Fans of @TrentoHunter, don’t worry: “I ATE TWO MEALS INSTAGRAM AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO POST THEM. MY FANS ARE GOING TO THINK I AM STARVING.” This was retweeted more than 2,000 times and liked nearly 16,000 times.
But what about the Instagram models?
Anyone try resetting?
Twitter user @xotinajoy had another theory. “Plot twist: the CEO of twitter hacked the Facebook and Instagram servers #FacebookDown.”
Yep, @Lorraineno9 got it right. We turn to Twitter.
